Filterholder for Lee 100mm filtersystem for Nikkor Z 14-24mm f2.8 S.

NIKKOR Z 14-24 f2.8 S Holder Kit
Specially developed by LEE for the latest generation of super-wide angle
zoom and prime lenses to provide access to the popular LEE100 filter
This beautifully machined metal filter holder, manufactured from
aluminium, uses a new compression ring mounting system that
attaches around the front of the lens barrel and locks securely to
the lens without risk of damage to the lens barrel or hood mount.
It’s twin-slot filter guides provide full 360-degree filter holder
rotation, to enable the exact placement of filter effects into the
The super-wide nature of this new filter holder requires
the use of slot-in filter adaptor frames to accept LEE100
100x100mm and 100x150mm filters and the kit includes the
filter holder, a compression ring for the NIKKOR Z 14-24mm
f2.8 S lens, one of each of the two filter adaptor frame sizes
and a drawstring carry pouch.
Please note that the LEE100 Clip-on Circular Polariser is
not compatible with this holder.
The LEE100 Slot-in Circular Polariser may be used
with the appropriate filter adaptor frame.
Q. Why make a system for this specific lens?
A. When LEE were given an early heads up this lens was going to be very
popular, we wanted to support our global Nikon customers by creating a
high quality filter system, to complement this exciting, bright new fullframe
When we got our hands on the lens, it quickly became clear that our
existing LEE100 Filter Holder had too narrow a lens mount for the Nikkor
14-24’s ultra-wide front element and field of view, so we went back to the
drawing board and created this new holder.
Q. Why create a bigger LEE100 Holder, and not a brand new system?
A. Many professional photographers and Nikon users already have LEE
standards and grads, so it was important we created something which
could be compatible with some of their existing kit.
Q. Why is this a compression ring, not a screw in adapter?
A. The design of this lens has left only rear-mounted filter options or the
fitting of 112mm screw-in filters via the Nikon lens hood, neither of which
would allow the attachment and use of a LEE Filters system. Our solution
was to create a bespoke compression ring which fits around the Nikkor’s
lens barrel just behind the lens hood mounting flanges.
Instead of designing a holder which clamps directly to the lens with a
tightening grub screw, potentially damaging the lens casing, it instead
threads into a compression ring receiver into which the LEE compression
ring clips. A locking knob on the LEE Filter Holder compresses the ring
closed around the lens barrel. This securely mounts the new holder to the
NIKKOR’s lens barrel without causing any damage to the lens barrel or to
the lens hood mounting slot and flanges.
Q. Will it work on any other lenses?
A. The compression ring mounting system used in this new holder future
proofs the holder by allowing LEE to design additional compression rings
to fi t other brands and focal lengths of lenses with larger front elements
and inaccessible filter receivers. Additional compression rings for other
lenses may be introduced as the market demands them.
Q. Will my existing resin grads and 100mm standards fit into these
new filter frames?
A. Yes, two filter adaptor frames will also be available to buy with the new
holder. One to accept LEE100 100x100mm standard filters and the other
to accept our 100x150mm grads.
Q. Will my existing Stoppers (with the foam gasket) fit in the standard
100x100mm filter frames?
A. They will fit, but are not recommended, as the foam gaskets on the
Stoppers will cause vignetting when used on this lens. For this reason,
we have introduced two new Foamless Stoppers to overcome the
Q. Can I use your new Foamless Stoppers with my existing standard
A. Again, you can, but they are not recommended. For the new system
the foam, which prevents light leak, is built into the new filter holder
and is not present on the Stoppers. The foam on the standard LEE100
Stoppers is required to provide light seal integrity with the existing
standard LEE100 System.
Q. Can I use my LEE100 Screw-in Lens Adaptors with the new Nikkor
A. No. The new Nikkor filter holder has been designed exclusively for use
with our compression ring mounting system.
Q. Can I use my LEE100 Clip-on Polariser with the new adaptor?
A. No. Due to the ultra-wide angle of view on the Nikkor Z 14-24mm lens,
the wider spacing between the opposing filter blades on the new filter
holder precludes the use of the LEE100 Clip-on Polariser. Use of the
LEE100 Slot-in Polariser in one of the supplied filter adaptor frames is
certainly possible with the filter holder being rotated with the polariser
mounted to achieve the required level of polarisation.
Q. Can I have more than 2 slots?
A. We wouldn’t recommend, as more than two slots will cause vignetting
Q. My filter holder won’t attach?
A. Check the alignment markers on the holder are lined up with those on
the lens and ensure the screw is retracted.
Q. The frames are in my shot?
A. Remember the LEE Logo has to be facing outwards when inserting the
frames into the holder.
